Final Apollo site snapped by LRO

Having only recently reached the Moon, the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter raced to snap the Apollo landing sites. It got 11, 14, 15, 16 and17, with tracks visible at 14. 13 famously never landed and 12 was out of range. Now 12 has been snapped – and since LRO has lowered itself into a better orbit, the image is of good enough resolution to capture the astronaut footprints, the Apollo Lunar Surface Experiment Package and the Surveyor 3 spacecraft – see it on Universe Today.
