More from the Moon

NASA’s LCROSS probe has gotten over its emergency. The probe managed to burn up half its fuel after a computer error left the directional thrusters on too long. Now it has been determined that there’s plenty left to complete the mission so the declaration of spacecraft emergency has been rescinded. The probe will soon be crashing into the surface of the Moon, following the upper stage of the rocket that launched it to measure the plume of dust the primary impact sends up for signs of water hiding in the darkened crater chosen for the mission.

JAXA’s Kaguya probe on the other hand (which has already impacted the Moon) has had its topographic maps of the Moon converted into sound… Here’s Moon Bell
