Galileo Moment winners announced

The competition run by the UK International Year of Astronomy, 2009 on the twitter website (their account here) has been concluded. Called Galileo moments, it asked for people to send in quick mentions of their first associations with astronomy. The winners were picked out at random using this website and overseen by a member of the British Science Association. They were:

@billinforress: My galileo moment was seeing the moons of Jupiter for the first time, though 8×30 binocs #galileomoment

Who came second, winning some astronomy books and:

@ballibeg: Camping high on Cairngorm plateau watching a white streak. Stayed up into early hours to see it pass again. #galileomoment

Who came first, winning more books and a Galileoscope.
