Missile trackers launched

Today saw the launch of two spacecraft for the United States Missile Defense Agency, known as The Space Tracking and Surveillance System Demonstrator mission, or STSS Demo. The mission is a demonstration of the space based part of the missile defense system that hopes to track and discriminate between different ballistic missiles. They were launched aboard a single Delta II rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida, USA. Video from the launch has been posted to NASA’s Youtube Channel:
