Dark sky Diary

An interesting resource now out for public consumption is the Dark Sky Diary, a blog listing various things related to light pollution and the fight for dark skies.

On the blog at the moment are explanations of the magnitude scale of astronomical object brightnesses, behind the scenes on shooting star pics in various locations for a bbc program, information on equinoxes and how to use google Earth to hunt for dark skies (plus plenty more).

It is written by Steve Owens who ran the International Year of Astronomy in the UK amongst other things achieved last year.
