100 years of the BSA reaches the ISS
It is the centenary year of the Boy Scouts of America and they are celebrating by sending up badges to the International Space Station as part of the space shuttle Discovery’s mission STS-131.
The scouts’ facilities have been used for astronaut training, eleven out of the twelve men to have stepped on the Moon were scouts and more than half of US astronauts were likewise.
The patches sent up are the Year of Celebration badges.
