Things coming up

Another reminder of things coming up.

On Monday night from 7pm, the Eddington Astronomy Society will be hosting a beginners night including an ask the astronomer panel at Kendal Museum.

That night is April 12th and the anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s first flight into space. Known as Yuri’s Night, it is also the conclusion of eight days of partying around the globe in celebration of manned space flight.

The Eddinburgh International Science Festival is running from now until the 17th of April.

Tomorrow is Sun Day, a part of Global Astronomy Month where people are encouraged to perform solar observing activities.

Finally, we are in the midst of 30 Nights of Starpeace, an event where groups of astronomers in countries not known for their general levels of friendliness toward each other are encouraged to carry out observations of the same target at the same time while in contact with one another. Summed up in the motto “One People, One Sky”.
