#SciVote on election day

They think it’s all over, but has it just been done. As the various counts up and down the country proceed (not here in Westmorland and Lonsdale, we don’t count until tomorrow, in common with a couple of dozen others – and we’re a marginal, meaning we will hold up your result), I’ve got one last election campaign day roundup of news of relevance to the #SciVote campaign of CaSE.

Nature has released the results of a survey of scientists, relating to the general election and the prospects for science thereafter.

As I go to sleep, Dr Evan Harris, Lib Dem science spokesman, is out of parliament, as is the Wyre Forrest Independent MP Dr Richard Taylor, Labour’s Charles Clarke and Lembit Opik, the Lib Dem.

Will check MPs in and out against the Times’ earlier list of science literate candidates tomorrow for a full roundup.
