Two meetings are looming into view, aimed at different audiences, all with the common theme of space and astronomy.
The European Space Agency invites educators to a workshop at its facilities in the Netherlands on the 28th-30th of June. Secondary school teachers from EU member states (Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom) are invited to join the first in a series of summer workshops designed to better facilitate educational use of the International Space Station, which will be in orbit at least until 2020, and also come up with ideas for future educational exploitation of the ISS. The European Variable Meeting, organised by The Dutch Variable Star Association, will take place at the Universiteitsmuseum Groningen, the Netherlands on October 22-24, 2010. The meeting celebrates the organisation’s fiftieth year of operation. Further details and a tentative program are available here.
