The future for NASA?

NASA’s chief technologist, Robert D Braun, has been setting out his vision for the future direction of NASA – see video here and below. As with this White House press release and many reports before, it sets the scene for private company involvement in getting astronauts to space and back with reusable spacecraft now the order of the day again. The Commercial Reusable Suborbital Research program, or CRuSR, aims to push the boundaries of NASA acronyms and give private companies a hand up into orbit. Presently, there are lots of companies with contracts and good intentions, but less in terms of results. One company, Space Systems/Loral has announced its approval of CRuSR and NASA’s direction.
