Win astronomy books

The Sky at Night Magazine have the following enticement to encourage people to submit letters to the publication:

Just write a letter on anything to do with astronomy or Sky at Night Magazine. The best one each month wins those fantastic Philip’s titles.

In the past, winners have written letters…

  • About something controversial!
  • Commenting on a feature or page in the magazine (it doesn’t have to say we’re great!!!)
  • About an interesting historical fact or event
  • Praising a society or individual
  • Questioning or speculating on the latest discoveries
  • About an amazing observing night you’ve enjoyed
  • About an astronomy project or build, or an interesting place that a reader has visited

But it needn’t be any of those. As long as other readers might be interested in reading your letter, we’ll print just about anything. And it doesn’t have to be very long. 100-150 words is ideal!

So get writing! If your letter is message of the month you’ll win Stargazing 2010 by Heather Couper and Nigel Henbest, Patrick Moore’s Atlas of the Universe, Stargazing With A Telescope and Solar System Observer’s Guide.
