NASA has nothing up top, asks students for help

NASA has set a new challenge to help inspire the spaceflight engineers of tomorrow – design an inflatable loft that can be integrated onto the existing hardshell prototype lab unit. The aim will be for the students to manufacture and assemble the structure during one of NASA’s field days in the summer of 2011. The idea is to educate about NASA’s present space habitat designs and for undergraduates to help improve on them.

For more on the challenge, visit the website, the challenge is part of NASA’s exploration program and partly run by the Office of the Chief Technologist.
