Today’s Sunspotting

This morning was host to a deluge that continued well into the afternoon and broke away leaving a grey, cloudy sky. However, the clouds eventually started breaking and by around 17:30, I was able to squeeze the Celestron 130SLT and AstroZap solar filter cap into a small space between some cars and the walls of the houses nearby. I captured a few views of the full disk with the 25mm eyepiece, including sunspot 1084, and a zoomed in one with the 9mm eyepiece. In the images below, the other black things, aside from the spot and passing bits of cloud, are the tops of a nearby tree. Due to damage to the telescope tripod, I didn’t feel like hauling it over the bumpers of the cars to a better spot…
