Meteors and a not quite meteorite…

The Lyrid meteor shower occurred this week. Although the shower itself was unimpressive, there were a large number of reports of bright fireballs preceding the main event across the globe. Perhaps inspired by this, a meteorite hoax has been doing the rounds. The video and an explanation of why it is likely to have been a hoax can be seen here.
